On Wednesday 9th May the Young Shakespeare Company came into school to work with our year 8 students and put on a performance of 'Romeo and Juliet.'
Students became actively involved in the play through a range of drama and language activities. They were encouraged to explore the motives, thoughts and feelings of the characters. Volunteers from among the students became individual characters in the story. The modern day setting of a school was familiar to students and helped them to understand the plot. At the end students were encouraged to ask questions. They asked some very insightful questions about how to become an actor.
