English Martyrs’ Mock General Election 2017

On the day the nation went to the polls, students were themselves tackling some of the hot political issues of the day and voting in the English Martyrs’ Mock Election 2017.

Every student in the school had the opportunity to vote for the party they would like to win in their “constituency” (or form group).  Students were guided through the key policies of each of the main political parties and were encouraged to reflect upon the importance of democracy and exercising their democratic rights (after all, many of our students may well be old enough to vote at the next General election) They then voted independently.  The votes were counted up by staff and student volunteers and the results are posted below.
