The Church sets aside November as a month to remember and pray for those who have died. As a school, we will also be celebrating a voluntary Requiem Mass on Friday 11th November in St Cecilia Auditorium, to remember all our loved ones, family and friends who have died together with the victims of terror and disaster.
We pray that they will share God’s rich banquet of eternal life. Names of those we are praying for will be recorded in our Book of Remembrance which will be presented during our Mass and subsequently placed before the Tabernacle in the Chapel throughout November. We will continue to pray for these people in the chapel each day during Morning prayer (which is held at 7.45am) and of course students are welcome at any time to pray in the chapel. The Chaplain, James Noakes, is also available to speak to or pray with students each day.
During November we will use this prayer for the faithful departed:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord
And let perpetual light shine upon them
May they rest in peace. Amen
