Members of Year 8 have enjoyed a wonderful retreat at Castlerigg Manor, Lancaster Diocesan Youth Retreat Centre in the Lake District.
The retreat theme focussed on God's love for each of us and God's mercy in action in our lives. Students have worked in small discussion groups and taken part in a variety of liturgies including morning and night prayer and sacramental Reconciliation. Their retreat culminated in a carefully prepared celebration of the Mass with each student participating in the leadership of the liturgy.
During the week students studied a variety of texts from the Bible and responded through discussions, writing, singing, drama and craft workshops. Each day students went on a walk to one of the many local sites of stunning natural beauty, including Walla Crag which overlooks Derwent Water (pictured here).
