20 Volunteer businessmen and women visited school on Thursday 5th May to offer careers interviews to students in Year 10. The Interview Technique education programme is organised by the charity Leicestershire Cares and thanks go to Gail Brown the convenor of the event for bringing together a diverse and highly talented group of people from the commercial sector to work with our students.
Each Year 10 student had a ten minute interview and received feedback from their volunteer.
Mr James, Vocational Education Officer commented: “This was a brilliantly organised event and very much appreciated by our students”. Students said:- “this interview has helped me build my confidence in being able to talk to strangers”; “the interviewer has taught me how to describe my skill set in a better way” and “my volunteer was very nice, welcoming and gave me good feedback”.
Thank you to all the business people for giving up their time and thank you also to the Hospitality Team Caitlin, Daniela, Natasha and Princess who looked after guests and made the event run so smoothly.
