All students at English Martyrs' have been given the opportunity this week to vote in this year's Leicester City Young People's elections.
The elections, which will vote in a Youth Council to work alongside Leicester City Council in order to give a voice to under 18s, were taking place across the city.
Five students from the school - Stephanie Tangen, Alycia Devaney, Isabella Gannon (all pictured), Katie Walker and Torin Page - put themselves forward for election. They had to write manifestos and attend hustings at the Council Chambers.
We wish every success to these young people and hope this experience of political engagement will encourage many of our students to speak up for what matters to them!
