Students from English Martyrs played a leading role in Leicestershire's Holocaust Memorial Event at Leicester University on Wednesday 27 January. Charlie Bee and Torin Page reflected on the impact of Holocaust Education on them, Charlie reflecting specifically a visit to Auschwitz. Sisters Shahad and Farah Salim spoke powerfully of their experiences of growing up in Iraq and the genocide of Christians taking place there.
Music for the evening was provided by Allen Biju (piano) and Elisabeth Toogood (violin) accompanied by Mr Simeone. The event was attended by a large number of civic leaders including Councillor Ted Cassidy, the Lord Mayor, pictured with the students.
