Many students have taken part in volunteering and charity activities this term and Year 7 have been at the vanguard most recently collecting presents for needy children and making a commitment to CAFOD’s ‘Notes for Goats’ campaign to purchase goats for village communities.
As a result of their work which included organising a fun fair in the sports hall at lunch and a sponsored silence, they will now be able to fund the purchase of over 32 goats! Year 10 and 11 have been collecting tinned and dried food for the Leicester food bank. Everyone took part in Advent non uniform day and £715was raised. A special mention must be made of Patrick Mortimer Smith 9 Ward who set himself the challenge of running the equivalent length of a marathon race (26.2 miles) in aid of our Advent Charity CAFOD. Helped by his dad and Fr Clement, his parish priest, Patrick not only completed his challenge but raised a staggering £1,000 for CAFOD. This is an example to us all. Congratulations and thanks from the whole community to Patrick. At our Festival of Carols and Readings £562 was raised for LOROS.
