  • Noye's Fludde
    21 June 2018

Preparations for Noye’s Fludde are going well. Pictured here are some Year 7 singers rehearsing singing in 7 parts (yes, 7 parts!) for the finale of the piece accompanied by our team of handbell ringers. Students were also trying out some of the more curious bits of stage equipment for the show: a  wind machine which sounds surprisingly like wind howling in a storm and an instrument Benjamin Britten designed specifically for Noye’s Fludde: the Slung Mugs. These mugs have been carefully selected by Mr Simeone as each sounds a different note and will be used as part of a large percussion section including 4 timpani drums, a bass drum, a tam tam and cymbals.

Year 7 singers and soloists are working very hard to prepare the performance. We all hope you can come. 6pm. Friday 29 June. Tickets £5, U19 £2. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  • Noye’s Fludde
    14 June 2018

Students from Year 7-10 and Sixth Formers are currently rehearsing for our Arts Festival Production of Noye’s Fludde. This work uses the words of a play from Chester written about the same time as the Black Death, The Hundred Years' War and Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales - which means that some of the lines are rather demanding -  but our students are doing incredibly well and the performance will be really special.  Pictured here are members of Year 7 who form the chorus of animals who board the ark with Noye (Noah). Meanwhile Mrs Noye, convinced her husband has finally lost the plot is having nothing to do with the absurd enterprise. Will she make it in time….

    Performance: 29 June, 6pm. St Cecilia’s Auditorium.

    Tickets cost: Adults £5; U19s £2
